Greek salad

Greek salad is one of the best known and most popular Mediterranean salads, which is also a perfect choice for a diet dinner. The harmony of fresh, crisp vegetables, flavorful olive oil, and creamy feta cheese makes it irresistible. It is easy to prepare, yet full of flavor, so it is guaranteed to be among the TOP 7 summer salads. 🙂 What’s more, Greek salad is basically low in carbohydrates, so it fits perfectly into a low-carb or ketogenic diet.

Serving suggestion

Greek salad goes well with grilled meats or fish, but it is also perfect on its own as part of a light lunch or dinner. Serve with a slice of fresh, crusty bread to enjoy every drop of the dressing.

Ingredients

  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 3 tomatoes
  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 purple onion
  • 1 pinch dried basil (even better if you use fresh ones)
  • 1 pinch dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste pitted green olives (green for me, because I don't like black)

Instructions

  • Finely chop the red onion and place in a mixing bowl. Dice the tomatoes, cucumber, and feta cheese and add to the bowl. Add the olives. Season with oregano and basil. Mix together.
  • It is worth leaving it for a while so that the flavors blend together better.
