Hi friends!

I’am Rita Földi,

the creator and foodie behind the Meal Blogger

I’m a Hungary-based food blogger with a big love for Hungarian comfort food and sunny Mediterranean flavors. I started cooking as a kid alongside my grandma, later completed a chef’s course, and I’ve been blogging since 2013.

My recipes are made with healthy eating in mind – simple, quick, and truly doable at home (no fancy plating, no fuss).

For me, cooking is joy, a reset button, and sometimes even a little meditation. And because everyone deserves to feel confident in the kitchen, I’ll always encourage you to learn from others, then make every recipe your own – seasoned to your taste and your life.

Eat well, feel better: more energy, more balance, and yes – maybe even a brighter you. Bring happiness into your life through food.

Principles

  • Who is the blog for?
My recipes and content are intended for healthy individuals for preventive purposes. If you have a medical condition, please consult a doctor. >> Disclaimer
  • I do not use AI-generated photos for my recipes.
Home-cooked dish, styled and photographed by me. No AI, just food and daylight.
  • Advertisements: I don’t overload my recipes with ads so that the content remains easy to see.
  • There is no media company or agency behind me. I do everything on my own, as a hobby and with passion.
  • What is considered healthy?
There is no such thing as something that is inherently healthy. The quantity is what matters. Water is very healthy, but if you drink 5 liters in one sitting, it becomes harmful. The same applies to everything. Fiber is also very healthy, but it can be overconsumed and then it becomes harmful. What matters is not what we eat, but how much we eat. We should eat a wide variety of foods, but in smaller amounts.
  • What kind of flour do I use?
All-purpose white flour (only for thickening), whole wheat flour (when a larger amount is needed), or oat flour (for example, for baking).
  • What do I use for sweetening?
Granulated sugar or honey (depending on the recipe).

That’s why I do it

My mission

My goal with this blog is to show that conscious, healthier eating doesn’t have to mean boring or repetitive meals.

I want to share my love of cooking and inspire you to discover the joy of homemade food. Because cooking isn’t just about nourishment – it’s about creating moments, flavors, and experiences you can truly enjoy.

I create simple, quick, and healthy recipes that fit into your everyday life. You don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen to prepare something delicious. With just one well-made dish, you can bring real joy to yourself and to the people you care about.

I believe that knowing how to cook is one of life’s greatest treasures. It gives you the freedom to eat well every day – and to take care of yourself in the most natural way.

Bring more joy into your life through food.

Questions & Answers

Yes. I photograph every recipe myself. After cooking, my second favorite hobby is food photography. I used to shoot with my phone, then I taught myself how to use a DSLR. Today I shoot with a Nikon D3500.

I love the white food photography style. I prefer working with natural light and using my hand-painted backdrops. With this recipe, for example, you can see exactly how I photographed it.

I’ve always loved eating and cooking, too. My mom and my grandmothers were wonderful cooks, and as a child I helped them a lot. My earliest cooking memories are of my mom letting me stir something, bread meat, or do other prep work. I really enjoyed it. She always taught me and showed me how to do things the right way.

Later, when I was running my own kitchen, I often had to call her before making a dish I couldn’t quite remember. I’d ask how she made that delicious green bean stew or her chicken soup. She’d tell me, and I’d write it down on a little note. Over time, I had more and more notes. I organized them into notebooks, but they filled up quickly.

I’ve always been drawn to digital things, and I thought: why not collect my recipes digitally? So I started a food blog that I can access from anywhere and where others can enjoy my recipes, too.

When I was a child, my parents owned a grocery store. I grew up in a way that we always had everything at home – or if not, I could just go down to the shop.

It often happened that some products reached (or were close to) their expiration date. We brought those items home, and if they were still perfectly fine to eat, we used them. So our fridge regularly had things that probably weren’t that common in other households – premium liver pâté, goat cheese, or more expensive vegetables and fruit.

From my mom, I learned early on that she never tried to save money on quality, so I got used to cooking with the best ingredients. Having all those “past-date but still good” items in the fridge also inspired me to turn them into something delicious.

That’s still how I cook today (and how my recipes on the blog are born): I check what’s in the fridge and cook from that – not strictly from a recipe. I also love getting inspiration from other recipes, but I always adapt them to my own taste.

I believe healthy eating is the key to feeling good in my own skin. As a child I was chubby, and later, as an adult, I struggled with my weight too. I lost weight, and I’ve maintained the weight I feel good at for years now.

These days I’m in control of what I eat – and how food makes me feel. I consciously choose lighter meals because they help me feel light, fit, and energized. To me, healthy eating is about giving my body the best it deserves.
