Tortilla wraps are also a good choice for dinner. You can fill them with anything you like, but if you’re on a diet, choose a low-calorie sauce and avoid mayonnaise and oily sauces! Fill them with lean meats and forget about crispy fried bacon! Roll in a large portion of fresh, crispy greens (lettuce, cucumber, celery). This will make you feel full and is also healthy. This time, I made a meatless version with feta cheese and Hungarian sauce. Try it if you like the combination of Hungarian and Mediterranean flavors.

Tortilla wraps – store-bought or homemade?

The easiest way is to use store-bought tortillas, but you can also make them at home if you like. You can choose whole wheat or corn flour tortillas, depending on which fits your diet better.

Interesting fact: an average tortilla contains approximately 180-200 calories, while a serving of rice can contain up to 350 calories.

How to cook tortilla wraps perfectly?

Heat up the pan and fry both sides of the tortilla without oil. It will only take a few seconds per side, so keep an eye on the color – when it starts to brown a little, flip it over and fry the other side.

It is important not to overcook it, because then it will harden and be difficult to roll up.

Once ready, spread your favorite topping on it while it’s still warm and fill it with diet-friendly delicacies!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole wheat tortilla sheet
  • 50 g feta cheese
  • 2 cocktail tomato
  • 1 small piece of raw carrot
  • 1 handful mixed salad leaves
  • a few slices of cucumber

For the Hungarian sauce:

  • 60 g plain yogurt (even tastier with Greek yogurt)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 coffee spoon Erős Pista (This is a Hungarian paprika cream, which is spicy.)

Instructions

  • Cut the carrots into matchsticks. Slice the cucumber. Dice the tomatoes. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Hungarian sauce: mix a little Erős Pista into the plain yogurt, then add salt. Taste it to make sure it is salty and spicy enough for your liking.
  • Toast the tortilla, then spread Hungarian sauce on it. Add the feta cheese, sprinkle with chopped carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, and a large handful of lettuce.
  • Roll it up and eat it right away!
