Cauliflower Casserole with Grilled Sausage
Wonderfully Delicious and Quick to Make

During the summer, there were some leftover grilled sausages sitting in the fridge. Somehow they got forgotten, skipped over, and nobody wanted them anymore. In the end, I found the perfect place for them in a cauliflower casserole. I would never have thought grilled sausage could taste this good baked together with cauliflower in a creamy sour cream and cheese sauce. Absolutely delicious. If you don’t believe it, give it a try yourself!

Cauliflower Casserole with Grilled Sausage
Wonderfully Delicious and Quick to Make
Ingredients
- 1 large head of cauliflower
- 200 g grilled sausage (Always choose a high meat-content grilled sausage.)
- 300 ml sour cream (12% fat)
- 2 eggs
- 100 g chili cheese (other cheese works well too)
- Salt
- Italian herb seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Cut the cauliflower into small florets, wash them, and cook in salted water until half tender. Do not overcook it, as it will continue to soften in the oven. Drain well and set aside.
- Slice the sausage and place it in an ovenproof baking dish. Put it in the oven and bake until crispy.
- Remove the sausage from the oven and add the cooked cauliflower. Season with Italian herb seasoning and mix thoroughly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs. Add a little salt, then stir in the sour cream until smooth and creamy. Pour the mixture over the cauliflower and sausage.
- Top generously with chili cheese and return the dish to the oven. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 20 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown.
