I want to lose weight! – I hear this phrase more and more often these days. My goal is not to temporarily reach my dream weight, but to develop a lifestyle that I can easily maintain in the long term. In this article, I will share how I managed to achieve this and what tips are worth following if you want to lose weight too.

A lifestyle change is the solution

The first step to lasting weight loss is recognizing that you don’t need to try crash diets, but rather a lifestyle change. Excess weight didn’t develop in a few weeks, but accumulated over many years, so it’s realistic to expect that losing it will also take time. We often fall into the trap of expecting quick results and are inclined to believe advertisements that promise we can lose up to 5 kilograms in a week. However, such diets usually end in disappointment because the weight loss is not permanent and the lost pounds quickly return.

Why shouldn’t we believe in miracle cures?

Losing weight is not magic that can only be achieved with various miracle cures. There are no capsules or preparations that can bring about lasting weight loss on their own, without changing your eating habits. The success achieved through crash diets is short-lived, and often the weight comes back, sometimes even more than you originally lost. This is the yo-yo effect, which is not only harmful to your body, but also takes a toll on your soul.

Don’t be too hard on yourself!

Weight loss should not be based on self-punishment. Extreme diets, such as the cabbage soup diet or the 90-day diet, can upset the body’s balance in the long term and even lead to health problems. The most important thing is harmony, which we must find within ourselves and in our diet. We must choose the golden mean, where we consume all nutrients in the right proportions and do not overdo it.

The importance of determination

There comes a moment when you finally have enough of unsuccessful diets.

Deciding to change your lifestyle requires a serious commitment, which is essential for permanently losing excess weight. This is not a program that lasts a few days, but a long-term commitment. Until you are ready to make this decision, there is no point in starting, because your attempt may only result in another failed diet.

A few years ago, I made up my mind to do so, but when I started changing my lifestyle, I found that diet foods weren’t tasty enough and didn’t give me the enjoyment I always look for in food.

Almost every weight loss theory claims that it is not important to enjoy flavors, only to lose weight. I cannot agree with this. For me, the taste experience is very important, perhaps even the most important thing.

I tried quite a few diets, but I stopped them all because I realized that the food I was eating did not make me happy. I felt depressed and down for days. The only reason for my depression was the boring flavors. Gastronomy plays an important role in my life. Somehow, I had to bring the two together. That’s why I developed the Eat and Lose Weight method.

Find your own diet!

Everyone is different. Some people can easily give up dairy products, for example, while others don’t like to eat too much meat, and still others eat meat with meat. Everyone has to find their own diet. If a bodybuilding diet works for you, stick with it; if you swear by paleo, go ahead, because it may be ideal for you.

The problem was that none of the diets worked for me. I took what I liked from each one, but I wanted to develop it to suit my own taste buds. I wanted to diet in a varied, tasty, healthy, and happy way, and I succeeded. This became the Eat and Lose Weight method, thanks to which I lost 10 kilos in six months and have maintained my weight ever since.

My method is based on minimizing the consumption of poor-quality carbohydrates, as these raise insulin levels, which increases appetite and makes it difficult to lose fat. Instead, I use ingredients that do not cause a rapid rise in blood sugar levels, thus helping with weight loss.

What should you eat to reduce fat deposits rather than increase them? I use these ingredients for baking and cooking without sugar and white flour:
