Roasted potatoes recipe
Seasoned with garlic and sweet red paprika powder

In my opinion, roasted potatoes are a healthier version of French fries. When we think of French fries, we usually think of the kind fried in plenty of oil. However, if you eat healthily, you should definitely avoid frying in plenty of oil. It is a misconception that potatoes make you fat. The secret lies in the quantity and how you fry them. I calculated 2 potatoes per person (1 potato weighed approx. 80 g raw). This is a small amount, and you can also eat salad or even steamed red cabbage with it. Before frying, I boiled them in salted water and then fried them in their skins. Before frying, I coated them thoroughly with sweet red paprika powder (Hungarian) and garlic oil. The result was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Try it yourself!

Diet?
When prepared properly, potatoes are not only delicious but also nutritious. Although they are a high glycemic index carbohydrate, when consumed in the right combinations and in moderation, they are not a problem and can even be a valuable source of nutrients in a healthy diet. According to the Eat and Lose Weight method, you don’t have to give them up completely, but be sure to avoid pairing them with fatty foods.

Roasted potatoes recipe
Ingredients
- 8 small potatoes (1 piece approx. 80 g raw)
- water
For the spiced oil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sweet red paprika powder (Hungarian)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 clove garlic
Instructions
- Wash the potatoes and scrub them one by one to remove any dirt. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, large enough to hold the potatoes. Place the potatoes in the boiling water and cook until tender. This takes about 20 minutes if you have chosen smaller potatoes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C or 392°F (bottom, top, and convection).
- Check if the potatoes are soft. To do this, pierce a potato with a knife; if it goes in easily, it is ready. If the potatoes are soft, drain the water. If you want to remove the skins, run them under cold water to cool them down a little. You don't have to remove the skins, only if you want to. I removed the skins from the ones that were damaged.Cut the potatoes lengthwise into quarters and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Prepare the seasoned oil! Pour the olive oil into a small bowl, add the salt, paprika, and a large clove of crushed garlic. Mix well. Using a silicone kitchen brush, coat all sides of the potato pieces with this seasoned oil.
- Put it in the oven and bake until crispy. Stir two or three times during baking. It takes about 20-40 minutes to bake, depending on how crispy you want it.
