10 spring program ideas for relaxation

It doesn’t cost much either!

What does true relaxation mean to you? How do you switch off your brain? How much do you live in the moment? If you can’t fall asleep at night because your brain is racing, then I think you need to address these questions. As I wrote earlier, I believe that relaxation is one of the seven pillars of a healthy lifestyle. You can’t relax until your racing mind lets you sleep and rest. This spring, finally do things that help you relax and recharge with new energy and inspiration! Here are some ideas for a healthy lifestyle and relaxation.

10 spring program ideas for relaxation

1. Be a kid again for a moment and fly!

Do you remember how it felt as a child to go outside and whizz around on some kind of vehicle? When you were completely absorbed in the moment and nothing else mattered except the joy of whizzing around? On a scooter, roller skates or a bike? It didn’t matter. The point was that carefree smile that filled your heart to the brim. Bring out those vehicles in the spring! Pick up your scooter again, find a good road, and ride!

bike

Get your bikes out, ride around locally, or check out what other cycling routes there are in the country! Cycling around Tihany or Lake Velence are activities you could tick off your bucket list in spring if there weren’t so many people in these places. I suggest you look for bike paths, forests, and lakes closer to home. Discover new places!

I won’t recommend specific places, because that would contradict what I wrote in my article 5+1 getaway destinations – escape here if you want peace and quiet. (Sorry.)

2. Walk and be mindful!

You can smell the refreshing scent of the balmy air. You can see that the trees and bushes are covered in tiny green shoots and colorful flowers. You feel an irresistible desire to finally experience something new, preferably outdoors. Go for a walk and enjoy the moment!

To live in the present, look for places where there are no crowds. Think of smaller towns or a cozy little village! We tend to choose places that are advertised. This is convenient because we don’t have to think or come up with ideas about where to go. However, these advertised places are usually crowded. It is worth taking the time to discover places for ourselves. Places that are not advertised anywhere. Here, we are guaranteed to find peace and quiet.

Smaller, lesser-known paths are best for peace and quiet. Go for a walk in places like these and observe the small details around you. Keep an eye out for flowers, trees, or even details on buildings. Conscious observation helps you notice and appreciate the beauty around you. You can even draw or paint what you find beautiful. Take a notebook and pencils with you, or perhaps some paint and brushes. Drawing is not only a creative activity, but also a meditative one. It helps to relax the constantly churning mind.

Discover the tranquility of botanical gardens!

Botanical gardens are ideal for relaxation and quiet reflection. Take a stroll among the beautiful plants, listen to the birds singing, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of these green oases.

3. Relax in a cozy park and have a great picnic!

Walking in the pleasant spring sunshine is a truly joyful activity, but if you combine it with delicious snacks, your intake of “smile vitamins” is guaranteed. Find a lesser-known park, prepare a small picnic, or pick up some tasty snacks along the way. Take a soft blanket and a good book with you, and enjoy the sweet life, relaxing in the gentle embrace of nature. Eating outdoors not only brings fresh air, but also a good mood. What’s more, a game of Frisbee or badminton can brighten up your day if you go with your girlfriend or boyfriend!

4. Get gardening and watch new life grow!

Plant cocktail tomatoes, peppers, or herbs! You can even grow these in your windowsill at home. But of course, it’s even better if you have a small garden where you can conjure up an entire vegetable patch. Plant new flowers or start your own little vegetable garden. Gardening can be a meditative activity that helps you slow down and connect with nature.

You will be filled with joy when you see new life growing in the soil, and you will rejoice at the first harvest if you have nourished and cared for your little plants properly. As you watch your little plant grow, remember that it always takes patience and care to create something from nothing. Sometimes you have to nurture the seed within yourself and raise your plant with care (and action). You have to work for your goals; it is not enough to plant the seed and wait for it to grow on its own. You have to water it and take care of it so that it survives the rain, wind, and storms. You also have to feed it. Only then will you have a strong plant.

5. Organize and get rid of unnecessary items!

This point may differ from the above, because at first glance it does not seem like a joyful activity at all, but the result of tidying up and getting rid of junk evokes pleasant feelings in most of us. Do a big spring cleaning! Not just in your home, not just in your wardrobe, not just in your garden, but also on your phone, your computer, and even your social media profiles!

Remember the saying, “Order is the soul of everything.” Getting rid of unnecessary things can also help you let go on a spiritual level. It can make you feel lighter, not just physically, but spiritually as well. Cleaning up your personal spaces can improve your well-being. Think about how good it feels to walk into a tidy, clean home. Throw out the wilted flowers and replace them with fresh spring flowers! Get rid of what you don’t need and make room for the new! (In your home and in your life.)

6. Beautify your balcony or terrace!

With the arrival of spring, we begin to leave the warmth of our homes and spend more and more time on the terrace or balcony. Renovating your balcony or terrace is a truly joyful activity. Not only because of the results achieved. The process itself is enjoyable once you finally decide to start the renovation. Brighten it up with mood lighting, colorful flowers, comfortable seating, soft cushions, or even a small swing. Create a beautiful nook for yourself to enjoy your morning/afternoon coffee or read, i.e., to spend quality time on yourself.

7. Decorate your home for spring!

This program may not seem like much fun at first glance. However, it’s a great way to express your artistic side, and it’s the kind of project you can completely lose yourself in. At least, that’s how it is for me. I also find it relaxing to browse spring inspiration on Pinterest. Then I plan and buy spring decorations. Every season, I put new posters in the picture frames above the sofa. For spring, I chose these:

The spring-themed posters are perfectly complemented by pink and mint-colored pillowcases. (You don’t need to buy new pillows, just replace the covers.) I also placed a bouquet of fresh tulips on the small table in front of the sofa and put some raspberry-scented candles on a small bowl. Could there be a better place to spend some me-time? 🙂

8. Have a day of doing nothing!

In spring, there may still be days when the weather prevents you from doing outdoor activities. Don’t worry! A rainy spring day is perfect for reflecting on yourself and recharging your batteries! Days spent doing nothing help me a lot. Unlike other days, I don’t plan anything for these days, I just let myself do whatever I feel like doing. I sleep in, read in bed for a long time, and make a delicious breakfast. Then I see what I feel like doing. But I don’t consider anything to be an obligation or a task. Sometimes I meditate, sometimes I tidy up my things. Sometimes I take out my food magazines or cookbooks. I flip through them and let new ideas come to mind.

9. Focus on healthy eating!

Spring marks the end of hibernation. You may have been eating more than you needed to. You may also have been getting less exercise. When you take off your heavy coats, you may discover that you have gained 1-2 kilos. Beach season is approaching! It’s time to focus on eating well and getting rid of those extra pounds. The Lifestyle Change Package can help you with this!
