Finely chop the red onion. Salt it lightly and mix it with the salt. Let it sit for 5 minutes. (If using spring onion, salting is not necessary.)
Place the cottage cheese in a mixing bowl. Add the sour cream and spices. Mix thoroughly. Finally, stir in the prepared onion.
If you want to add egg whites, boil 2 eggs until hard. Remove the yolks. Cut the egg whites into small cubes and mix them into the cottage cheese mixture.
It tastes even better if you let it rest in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
